Objective
Precise localization of expressed genes in the retina (rods, coins, ganglial-, amacrine-, horizontal-, bipolar– and Mueller cells). The expression analysis included a time dependent aspect with respect to animal`s age (E 12, 14, 16, 18, P 0, 1, 4, 7, 14, 30, 175).
Methods
A strategy is applied that is based on PCR and multiple antigen immunostaining of the protein of interest simultaneously to cell specific retinal marker (for differentiation between rods, coins, ganglial -, amacrine -, horizontal -, bipolar – and Mueller cells).
Results
Our analysis revealed the expression of the genes goosecoid homebox 2 (Gsc2), B-cell leukemia/lymphoma 6 (Bcl6), oligophrenin 1 (ophn1) and Ly6/neurotoxin 1 (lynx1) during the retinogenesis.
Conclusions
This study provides basic information for our understanding of gene function during retinogenesis.
