Wide angle fundus images and fluorescein angiography in clinical studies and routine diagnosis

Objective: Wide angle ophthalmoscopy with the OPTOS scanning laser ophthalmoscope provides 200 degree retinal images without dilatation of the pupil. The latest version OPTOMAP FA incorporates an additional blue laser for wide angle fluorescein angiography. But OPTOMAP FA requires mydriasis.
Methods: These wide angle retinal images are comfortable to the patient and can be used for clinical studies as well as routine diagnostic purposes. OPTOMAP FA offers a brilliant overview of the entire retina and good resolution.
Results: Data on screening for diabetic retinopathy and follow-up of peripheral capillary occlusion is presented. In addition a collection of clinical retinal cases is shown.
Conclusions: OPTOMAP FA is useful for routine diagnostics and clinical studies.
