Early detection of diabetic retinopathy

Early diagnostic of diabetic retinopathy, as a complication of diabetes mellitus, becomes more and more important, especially in fact of new therapeutic possibilities for the underlying disease. Beside classical morphological criteria and fluorescenceangiography new diagnostic possibilities are available. Functional tests like flicker light provocation and autofluorescence techniques show early changes of diabetic retinopathy. Beside classical methods new techniques will be case based demonstrated.
